During your dental hygiene appointment the hygienist will remove hard and soft deposits from your teeth, do a thorough periodontal evaluation, and provide oral hygiene instructions to help ensure the health of your teeth and gums.

Subsequent appointments are custom designed for each of our patients to provide you with the specific and personalized care you need.

Periodontal Maintenance Program 

Non-surgical Periodontal Therapy (aka Deep Cleaning):

Non-surgical periodontal therapy is a method of treating periodontal disease by removing calculus and stain from teeth.  Using an instrument called a small scaler or an ultrasonic cleaner, the hygienist carefully removes plaque and tarter down to the bottom of each periodontal pocket.   

Periodontal maintenance is the cleaning of periodontal pockets which removes plaque and calculus from above and below the gumline.  To maintain optimal oral health, periodontal maintenance is performed once every three months following non-surgical periodontal therapy.
